World Environment Day
On Saturday 5th June 2010, World Environment Day was marked by the Municipality of Heraklion with an event in the shore side park at Karavolas.The main goal of the day was to offer the public information about all kinds of green issues. To that end, a number of stalls were set up to inform the public about the environment-related initiatives being undertaken by the organizations participating in the event.



The Thalassocosmos stand could hardly have been absent, and attracted large numbers of friends over the course of the day. Our staff were on hand to talk to visitors about issues concerning research and protecting the marine environment. Pride of place was given to the living organisms in a small aquarium at the stand, as well as to an interactive game played by our young friends.



When the event came to a close, we all felt that out efforts had been more than rewarded. Here’s to our next project!
